With the full release of Android 15 just around the corner, Samsung has rolled out a new update. Initially released with the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6, the One UI 6.1.1 update has recently started rolling out to other devices. The update, announced for the Galaxy S24 series, will also be available for 2022 Galaxy devices, albeit a bit late. Here are the details…
Galaxy One UI 6.1.1 Update to be Released for Galaxy S22 Series
The new update was first released for the Galaxy S24 series and will become available for more devices in the coming weeks. Samsung’s official site indicates that while the update is listed for the Galaxy S23 series, S23 FE, Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5, and Tab S9, it will also be rolled out to the 2022 models, including the Galaxy S22, Z Fold 4, Z Flip 4, and Tab S8.
Despite the update periods mentioned when these devices were launched, the 2022 models are still on the update list. However, it appears that these phones and tablets will receive the Galaxy One UI 6.1.1 update a bit later, requiring users to wait a bit longer.
Unfortunately, the older flagship models will receive only some of the AI features and regular features included in the One UI 6.1.1 update. Confirmed features include Motion Clipper, Portrait Studio, Sketch to Image, and Live Effect Wallpapers.
It is not yet clear if the 2021 flagship models will receive this update, and even if they do, they are expected to miss out on most of the features. These devices, which also missed many features in the One UI 6.1 update, seem to be nearing the end of their update lifecycle.
